Default E/Me Distortionists (in PvP)

When will they be addressed and how much longer must we the PvP Community endure them? Very brief question about a very overpowered template in PvP:

It's dominating GvG, HA, TA, RA (dunno about HB or AB). It's ridiculously OP'd and needs to be toned down immediately to prevent continued abuse. It's already been mentioned in wiki's across the board that there's been E/M x5 in GvG (8v8) and x3 in TA (4v4). 5/8 in GvG and 3/4 in TA is outrageous and spells out overpoweredness clearly. The Live Team seriously needs to assess this template and issue an immediate update to stop this continued abuse.

aye probably in the next update, and they'l not just balance it, but completely nerf it. Probably something like increase energy loss to 5, and increase recharge to 15.

Well it's distortion that's the main problem isn't it? So imo nerf Distortion and don't go overboard by nerfing MB as well...

Wiki has it labeled for HB, but that's not true. No one good would use it in HB because there's [[Rigor Mortis]. Also, build doesn't have any utility needed in HB to win.

I would imagine it would work for AB.

I think nerf it, i never see anyone else using Distortion besides the tards running around in GvG spaming Mind Blast.

Mind Blast is the cause.. the build does even better with the e/d featherfoot/dwayna's touch variant.

Remove the 2 energy lost, change to for every attack blocked while in this stance, distortion takes an extra 2 seconds to recharge.

sure, nerf mesmers because eles abuse their skills.
eles make the problem, eles suffer from the problem solved - that's the way. i know mesmers that use distortion from time to time for a whole variance of reasons, main of them being fun.

Mind blast was intentionally pushed and pushed, after being un-nerfed and then immo buffed... I'm not really sure what to think or expect about balance anymore. I mean look at strength of honor, it was unused from the beginning for a while, then it gets a damage buff, much later a recharge nerf, and in the end finally gets ether renewaled. Why do they even try pushing these skills to viability and then completely demolish them?

Still, split isn't winning any mATs, so nothing is going to be done about mind blast.

P.S. the 5x mind blast builds are fun and work, but this shouldn't be confused with "good" let alone dominating.

The problem I see mainly is Distortion being ran with any form of energy management. It easily becomes like the ranger's Elite stance 'Escape'. I think Distortion needs to be tapped by the nerf bat (just not 25/90 assasination-mode).

As far as GvG goes, while it is a powerful template, I don't see it as being overpowered. The most common variant that I've seen, yumy split, with 2 Mindblast eles for splitting does make for a fairly good split build. Well run it can be tough to deal with. But you don't need to bring specific counters to it, and it isn't so powerful that it's the only viable build. It can be beaten through tactical smart play. Furthermore, bad teams trying to run it don't miraculously do extremely well.

Playing against 5 E/Me's in GvG also isn't extraordinarily difficult. Swap to fire shields and don't ball up and you mitigate a great deal of the pressure that they can do.
